R711 - VRC Workshop for Vinci Team Dates: September 12, 2024 - June 26, 2025 Time: Thursday, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Sunday, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Location: Needham Classroom # Grades: G7+, G9+ Prerequisite: R602 Related Class: Course Description: The VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) Workshop is offered to all new students who are willing to join the Vinci VEX Robotics World Championship Awarded competition team to pursue the highest honor in the largest robotics stage. The workshop allows middle school and high school students to follow the Engineering Design Process to design, build, program, and operate robots in a cooperative game-based engineering challenge. Students will work in teams, take different roles, and work their best for the VEX Robotics Competition (VRC). The VEX Robotics Competition is an exhilarating journey into the world of robotics for middle school and high school students. In this course, participants will immerse themselves in the Engineering Design Process to design, build, program, and operate robots in a cooperative game-based engineering challenge. This exciting competition fosters teamwork, critical thinking, project management, and communication skills. The course mainly focuses on how to solve the challenge with the Engineering Design Process and come up with a solid, practical, and executable plan for this season's VEX Robotics Competition by designing, building, operating, and programming robots to compete in exciting challenges. This workshop course will provide all materials, equipment, coaching, and team management from September to March (Regional Championship). The fee also includes all local (Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire) competition registration fees.
